The journey began with 15 beds in a shoplot in Shah Alam. Before the hospital buildings and the wider institution, there was this first, modest place to care for people.

The early expansion

Expansion first meant moving into the adjacent shoplots. The hospital grew to 50 beds, extending the original premises before taking the next, much larger step.

A hospital built for the purpose.
Section 14, Shah Alam · A new home
By 2010, the journey had moved beyond the shoplots into a purpose-built, 120-bed hospital in Shah Alam. A new building gave the institution a different scale and a new home.

2019

Another hospital. A new chapter.
Shah Alam · A second hospital
The opening of Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital marked another chapter: a 19-storey hospital on a two-acre site, extending the journey into dedicated care for women and children.

Later rebranded as Avisena Specialist Hospital 2.
The buildings show what grew.
They cannot show everything it took.
The milestones are only the visible part of the journey. The memoir turns towards the risks, setbacks, decisions and people behind them—the parts a timeline cannot hold.
